Annual Worldwide Candle Lighting
...that their light may always shine.

TCF Worldwide Candle Lighting unites family and friends around the globe as they light candles for one hour to honor and remember children who have died. As candles are lit at 7 p.m. local time, hundreds of thousands of persons commemorate and honor children in a way that transcends all ethnic, cultural, religious, and political boundaries.

Believed to be the largest mass candle lighting on the globe, the Worldwide Candle Lighting creates a virtual 24-hour wave of light as it moves from time zone to time zone. Hundreds of formal candle lighting events are held and thousands of informal candle lightings are conducted in homes as families gather in quiet remembrance of children who have died, but will never be forgotten.

Waterbury TCF will have a special Candle Lighting Program on December 9th at 4:00 PM at Rowland Park. All are invited, members and non-members, family and friends. Please bring an item to decorate the Christmas tree at the park, an edible goody for the birds and squirrels, such as stringed Cheerios, dried fruit or store-bought seed bells. We will light candles in our children’s honor along with inspirational readings.

Following the ceremony, many like to go for pizza at a local restaurant, as many find the TCF family comforting. All are welcome. We hope that all can join so “that their light may always shine.”

Click on the candle or click here for more detailed information at the TCF National website.

Annual Balloon / Bubble Launch in Memory of our Children

The launch on May 12, 2004 brought us a surprise. Balloons were released in the lower parking lot at the beginning of our meeting and a heart shaped cloud appeared which seemed as if the balloons soared towards our children in heaven.
